for grownups & little ones
Whether you’re a mom, dad, grandparent, nanny, even if you’ve never drawn before, you’re warmly welcome here.
This is a creative time outdoors for adults and their little ones. Grownups focus on drawing and reconnecting with their own creativity, while young children are gently exposed to art-making, natural materials, and the rhythm of mindful observation.
You’ll learn simple drawing techniques through guided exercises — with pencil, charcoal, or just a few lines. The goal isn’t perfect drawings of trees or landscapes — it’s to build the habit of drawing, of observing carefully, and of returning to paper again and again with curiosity.
Many children will naturally begin to imitate the grownups around them. They may join in with chalk, sticks, crayons — or simply play with leaves, soil, and acorns. They might nap in the stroller or wander quietly. And that’s all welcome.
We embrace all weather. In colder months, we draw with gloves on and encourage layers and warm socks for little ones. The natural world offers something in every season — and research shows that quiet time in nature, even without structured activity, helps boost attention, emotional regulation, imagination, and problem-solving in children.
For caregivers, drawing supports focus, emotional grounding, and cognitive flexibility. Especially with simple tools like graphite and black-and-white sketching, it becomes a deeply meditative and neurologically enriching practice.
We hope this time becomes the start of a small but lasting routine — a sketchbook by your side, a few minutes of quiet drawing, and a little one nearby who sees you making, noticing, and slowing down.
This workshop is both a pause and a beginning.
